Fan - 'a person enthusiastic about a specific sport, performer, etc.'
What is a 'fan'? That is a root word for 'fanatic', a person that is overly zealous about something or someone. People are fans of many things. Why? An emotional attachment to something that is outside of them, where they can live vicariously through another person or some other idea. We have too many 'fans' of sports and performers than we do of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Why is that? We are looking at all of what is going on with not only a lack of caring but with a disdain for anyone that would be against their particular view of what they believe to be 'the truth'.
What do we do when we become 'overly zealous' about something? We are literally emotional about what we believe, as slighted and deceptive as that that 'thing' might be. We often look at life through rose colored glasses. There are those that have taken off those glasses and now we SEE what is actually happening and we are standing firm against those that are in opposition to anything that is deceptive and dysfunctional.
Who are you? What are you doing? How are you seeing things? If you want, and if you need to, it's time to take off those dark colored glasses and see things for how they truly are. If you do not, you'll walk squarely into the wall that you cannot see in front of you.
